ANDY LORD BACKS MATERNITY UNIT AT THE ROCHDALE INFIRMARY!
Since the last Labour Government downgraded Rochdale Infirmary shutting the Maternity Unit and closing A&E, Rochdale has been without local maternity services.
Liberal Democrats believe that our citizens and our communities are the foundation of our democracy. It is from our citizens and communities that Councillors and MPs receive their authority, and they should represent the needs and views of the communities they represent in the Council Chamber or in Parliament.
Andy Lord and the Healey Ward Liberal Democrat Focus Team work tirelessly all year round to help people across Healey and Shawclough with both personal problems and community issues, and we keep our community informed with our regular Focus Newsletters, and asking your views through our regular community surveys. We also now have our survey form online, below, so please do fill it in so that we know what you are thinking and wanting as a resident of Healey ward.
If you have a problem or issue that you think Andy Lord and the Healey Ward Liberal Democrats Focus Team might be able to help you with then you can contact us:

Residents of a quiet Shawclough street have been left bitterly disappointed after Rochdale Council approved a controversial planning application , despite 39 formal objections and widespread concern over safety, access, and lack of transparency.
Residents on Bentley Street are facing daily traffic chaos — and the Council proposed solution would make things worse, not better.
Some residents in Shawclough and Healey are reporting a rather unusual — but persistent nuisance - roaming sheep munching their way through gardens, plants, and flower beds.
Ten years ago local residents around Healey Surgery successfully blocked plans to extend the building which threatened to encroach on their light.
For nearly two decades, the Healey Ward Forum provided an essential platform for residents to meet with council officers, police representatives, and local councilors to discuss and resolve issues affecting our community.
Our leaflets are paid for by donations from members and helpers, and our campaigning is run and done by local people like you. The Liberal Democrats do not receive any help or support from Trades Unions or big businesses. That is why we are able to campaign and speak freely about the issues affecting our area, and to support the interests of our local community.
If you appreciate the work Andy, and the local team, are doing here in Healey and Shawcross then you could support them by volunteering to deliver a few leaflets locally, please sign up here!
