It is from our citizens and communities that Councillors and MPs receive their authority, and they should represent the needs and views of the communities they represent in the Council Chamber or in Parliament.

The Government's new pothole rating is blunt, sitting as a reprimand for Rochdale's Labour Controlled Council, and yet nothing about it feels surprising.
In its hey day Turner Brothers Asbestos (TBA) was the largest asbestos factory in the world which employed thousands of Rochdalians.
Amongst the many scandals facing our NHS is the ongoing failure to provide a fully functioning maternity ward at Rochale Infirmary, so that Rochdale’s children can be born in Rochdale.
For years, families near the former “It’s All In The Image” site lived with constant noise, heavy trucks, and late-night chaos. Their voices were heard but ignored, leaving them feeling alone and frustrated.
Residents living near Its All in The Image continue to suffer from repeated breaches of planning conditions with HGV’s arriving at 6.30am disturbing local residents.
Since the last Labour Government downgraded Rochdale Infirmary shutting the Maternity Unit and closing A&E, Rochdale has been without local maternity services.
Our leaflets are paid for by donations from members and helpers, and our campaigning is run and done by local people like you. The Liberal Democrats do not receive any help or support from Trades Unions or big businesses. That is why we are able to campaign and speak freely about the issues affecting our area, and to support the interests of our local community.
