Rochdale's Labour Council is letting down young people in Heywood.

Tom Shaw is calling for better youth services in West Heywood and is lobbying Heywood Township for more resources.

Tom told Focus that “Everyone knows that the vast majority of young people are not a problem, bust post Covid, they have become more isolated from society and there’s very little to do in the ward. With reduced resources it is no surprise that we get anti-social behaviour.“

Tom added “We will fight for funding for more activities and support for young people in the area. We want detached youth workers to reach out to young people and engage them is positive activities to improve their lives."
