ANDY LORD BACKS MATERNITY UNIT AT THE ROCHDALE INFIRMARY!

Since the last Labour Government downgraded Rochdale Infirmary shutting the Maternity Unit and closing A&E, Rochdale has been without local maternity services.

At the same time there is a purpose built birthing pool unused at the Infirmary.

There is a national inquiry going on at the moment into maternity services and the Health Secretary has promised improved maternity services.

Andy Lord told FOCUS “I believe its time that the Maternity Unit was reopened at the Infirmary so that Rochdale residents have the choice that their babies can be born in Rochdale.”
