STOP THE SPEEDING!
Speeding cars on our residential streets are endangering local people, and the people in the car themselves. Rabina Asghar and the Liberal Democrats are calling on the council to improve the measures to cut speeding in residential areas, making it safe for residents, and especially our elderly and children, to cross our streets.
Rabina Ashghar told Focus, “Outside schools 20 is plenty, but even on long stretches of road in our residential areas there is no need to exceed the 30mph speed limit, and often there is not even need to reach that speed. No matter how hungry you are, or how much you want to be home, it really isn’t worth ruining your own or anyone else’s life for.”
The Liberal Democrats want to see all our local traffic controls properly assessed and where they need improving, such as here on Rooley Moore Road, we need the council to take action.
