STOP THE PILSWORTH STINK
With Valencia lifting their voluntary tipping ban on Pilsworth Tip in the last few months, predictably the stink emanating from the site has returned.
Tom Shaw and the local Liberal Democrats recently surveyed residents, who complained of nausea, light-headedness and shortage of breath due to the smell.
Tom Shaw told FOCUS “This is a disgrace. In our survey, residents told us they felt let down by Labour both in Rochdale and in Bury.
“Both councils have talked a big game about getting this sorted and blamed the government.
“The Labour GM Mayor posed for some photographs, the then Conservative MP did nothing to help, and the current MP does not seem to have been able to do anything either.”
Tom Shaw and the Liberal Democrats have called for the Environment Agency (EA) to revoke Valencia’s license to operate and to start the process of restoring the land to its original state.
Tom will continue to put pressure on the EA on behalf of our community, and keep residents updated at every stage.
