A TAX ON CARING!

National research by the Liberal Democrats has revealed that NHS patients and visitors paid out a total of £400,000 to park at hospitals every single day in the financial year 2022/2023, 50% up on the previous 12
months.

Meanwhile hospital car parking fees paid by staff have increased more than 700% compared to the previous year.

“This is a tax on caring,” says Rabina Asghar, “The rising cost isn’t because of increased usage but because parking fees are being hiked.”
