Letter from Parliament - Paul Rowen MP
Thu 12th Jun 2008
On Monday, I spent a couple of hours helping deliver meals on wheels with the WRVS as part of National Carers week. The week recognises the work of the millions of people who look after a loved one or volunteer for one of our many charities. They save the state billions of pounds every year. Wendy Smith very kindly organised it and I went out with Chris around the Healey and Wardleworth areas. It was great to be able to chat with the people who are the recipients of an excellent service.

Parliament has not been sitting this week - a welcome relief I suspect for Gordon Brown, the Prime Minister who has been having a torrid time. Most MPs spend their time in their constituencies catching up and meeting people.
